Tournament Rules:
All boats must leave and return via Ponce Inlet. This is a 1-day tournament for Wahoo, Dolphin and King Mackerel. The tournament will start on Saturday. There will be no check out time prior to the start of fishing. This is a No Check-Out Tournament. Eligible fish must be caught during tournament hours on a vessel that leaves and returns via Ponce Inlet. Tournament Channel is 72. No fishing lines in the water before 6:00 a.m., including teasers and bait rigs. If the U.S. Weather Service issues a Small Craft Advisory or greater at the 5:00 a.m. forecast, fishing is automatically postponed to an alternate date. The first alternate date is the Sunday directly after the scheduled Saturday fishing day. The next alternate date, if neither of those days are fished, will be announced on www.Kingoftheinlet.com and at the Captains’ meeting. Upon returning from fishing, all boats must CHECK IN by showing their boat number and then inform the committee boat on Channel 72 if they have fish to weigh. You will receive radio confirmation that you have checked in and then proceed to the weigh-in station located at Down The Hatch Restaurant, Ponce Inlet. Check-in MUST be acknowledged. ANY BOAT THAT DOES NOT CHECK IN CAN BE DISQUALIFIED. A copy of these tournament rules must be onboard at all times. If you don’t have fish to weigh and do not check in at the weigh station, please check in by VHF radio It is important for the tournament to know that each boat is back to port with all participants present and accounted for.
